Central Government Teaching Jobs
KVS (Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan)
- Posts: PRT (Primary), TGT (Trained Graduate), PGT (Post Graduate), Librarian, Principal
- Qualification: B.Ed + CTET (for PRT/TGT); M.Sc/MA + B.Ed (for PGT)
- Salary: PRT - Level 7 (₹44,900); TGT - Level 8 (₹47,600); PGT - Level 8 (₹47,600)
- Selection: Written test + Interview + Demo lesson
NVS (Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti)
- Similar posts to KVS with same qualification requirements
- Salary: TGT - Level 7 (₹44,900); PGT - Level 8 (₹47,600)
DSSSB (Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board)
- Recruits teachers for Delhi government schools
- PRT, TGT, PGT level posts
CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test)
Mandatory for teaching in Central Government schools. Two papers:
- Paper 1: For teaching Class 1-5 (PRT level)
- Paper 2: For teaching Class 6-8 (TGT level)
Qualification for Paper 1: 2-year D.El.Ed or 4-year B.El.Ed Qualification for Paper 2: Graduation + B.Ed
CTET certificate is now lifetime valid (changed from 7 years in 2021).
State TET and State Teaching Jobs
Every state conducts its own TET:
- UP TET - Uttar Pradesh
- MPTET - Madhya Pradesh
- REET - Rajasthan
- TNTET - Tamil Nadu
- HTET - Haryana
After passing State TET, candidates apply for state government school teacher posts through the respective State Education Board or SSB.
UGC NET (College/University Level)
For Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) posts:
- Qualification: Post-Graduation (55% marks, 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD)
- Exam: CBT in chosen subject + General Paper 1 (Teaching Aptitude)
- Salary (Assistant Professor): Level 10 (₹57,700 - ₹1,82,400) - Academic Pay Level
